| 2011-W 25th Anniversary Gold Star Silver Eagle NGC PR70 ER
Population under 800 coins
The Gold Star label has just been introduced by NGC and it is already a smash with collectors. It's the first label made for "W" West Point coins ever and will only be used for those coins that are produced at the West Point Mint of the U.S. Treasury Department.
Chattanooga Coin has just purchased the entire Gold Star mintage Early Releases PR70 from a South Florida dealer who had Early Release coins sitting at NGC and decided to slab them all in the Gold Star label instead of the traditional blue label. This means that the 2011-W PR69 and PR70 Early Release Gold Star coins could have a population so low as to rival any rare proof Silver Eagle slabbed to date.
We know of no one else who can qualify Eagles for the Gold Star label coins because the Early Release period has expired. |
