Royal Oak Mint 1916 Buffalo Nickel Composition Error (Restrike)

This error occurs when planchets of wrong composition are struck. This error was struck in pure copper.

The Royal Oak Mint is a private mint that specializes in creating faithful reproductions of rare United States coins to enable coin collectors to affordably complete their collections. They have a history of utilizing the talents of some the nation's top sculptor-engravers in the design of their reproductions, thus they have a reputation of producing commems that are among the most faithful to the originals of any that can be found in the industry.

Chattanooga Coin has purchased a nice selection of reproductions of some of the most unique and rare strike errors that obviously would be much too prohibitively priced in the originals for average collectors to obtain. The 'repros' are the same size and their compositions identical to that of the originals.

We think these are absolutely gorgeous and were it not for the mandated 'copy' stamp, it would be difficult to tell these from the originals.
