May, 2018 will mark the 103rd anniversary of the sinking of the British Cunard liner 'Lusitania'. The ship went down off the coast of Ireland after being torpedoed by the German U-Boat 'U-20'. The ship, along with 1,198 passengers and crew, sank in just 18 minutes. Among the victims were 128 Americans. This single event, more than any other, pushed the U.S. to enter 'The Great War'. Medals were first made in Germany, then later in 1915, in England. All were made of iron. Those on offer here are the English version of the medal, and each comes with a copy of the 'Propaganda Sheet' put out by the Germans celebrating the 'victory'.
